環境權保障基金會、美國地球之友 (Friends of the Earth U.S.) 於6月10日下午1點舉辦線上座談會，並同步發表最新報告《亟待課責：台塑集團的永續危機》，探討台塑集團在關鍵 ESG 指標上的缺失，並揭示該集團如何透過複雜的集團結構，美化其財務表現。座談會上更邀請到受影響居民代表，揭露台塑集團長期以來將利潤置於人類與地球之前，對他們造成的真實代價。

本報告盤點國際投資機構對台塑集團因氣候、勞權、環境等問題而撤資的狀況；揭示該集團自2024年初以來已腰斬的市值、大幅下滑的利潤等問題；並整體性的盤點國際評比機構包含MSCI、Sustainalytics這幾年來對台塑集團主要公司的評比趨勢。報告最後對全球投資人及關鍵ESG評等機構提出具體建議，期待他們發揮影響力，引導金流投注於真正永續和尊重人權的企業。

本座談會特別選在台塑工業公司股東會 (6/11) 前一天舉辦，希望台塑公司就本報告揭露之ESG缺失正面回應；也期待股東與投資人，包含第十大股東：勞動基金運用局，積極履行股東行動主義與責任投資原則，推動台塑集團落實其人權與環境義務。

Financial institutions and ESG rating agencies could help guide investment towards rights-respecting, environmentally responsible businesses. However, many are failing in this role — both because companies often manage to conceal their true practices, and because existing sustainability benchmarks contain significant loopholes.

In our upcoming webinar, we will examine how Formosa Plastics Group — one of the world’s largest plastics manufacturers and a supplier to globally recognised brands such as Adidas, Nike, Hyundai, and Coca-Cola — has failed across key ESG indicators. We will also examine how the Group obscures its unsustainable financial practices through complex corporate strategies.
